2 Sheet Wonder

2 Sheet Wonder

It’s not a one sheet wonder, but…

One of my favorite YouTubers recently did the Mojo Monday 6×6 2 sheet wonder challenge.  I’m not usually a “1 sheet wonder” person, but her cards turned out really cute so I decided to give it a try.

I didn’t want to start a “new” 6×6 paper pad so pulled out my old go-to 6×6 paper pad – ColorBok Carnival.  I swear it’s the never ending paper pad.  The challenge used 2 sheets of double sided paper.  Since the ColorBok paper is single sided I pulled out 4 sheets so I’d still have 4 different patterns to work with.  And I’d be able to make 6 cards instead of 3.

The first set of papers included a teal cloud print, a yellow lattice print, a multi-color dot print and a multi-color stripe.  Bright yellow cardstock was used for the background on 2 of the cards and navy blue was used for all the matting and stamped sentiments.  After much rearranging I had the paper combinations selected and got started assembling the cards.

The first 2 cards went together exactly as the card sketch indicated.

For the next 2 cards I did a little “tweaking” to make the sketch work.  Because I had selected a larger sentiment I needed to modify the vertical panel.  As only the very top and very bottom of the panel will be seen, I cut the panel in half with the gap being hidden behind the sentiment panel.  To fill up a bit of the white space on the sentiment panel I added a few epoxy dots.

The last 2 cards used the yellow cardstock as the background.  When looking at the cards before taping them together, the background looked too “flat”.  Dry embossing the background in a Swiss polka dot print added just enough.

I really liked how the cards turned out and decided to make another batch.  This time I pulled out a green/white dot print, a teal/navy dot print, a multi-color chevron print and a multi-color check print.  I used green and pearlescent white cardstock for the backgrounds on 2 cards and navy and green cardstock for all the matting.  The sentiments were again stamped using navy ink.

This was an easy way to get several cards done quickly.  And would be a great way to use up the last couple sheets of a 6×6 paper pad.  Now to get ready for my mystery box.
